Hey, I'm Hamish Gavin, songwriter/producer born in Mosgiel, lived in Dunedin till 2012, returned last year after a period in Auckland, London and Germany. This is track 4 off my debut album released last year on all streaming platforms under my birth name, it's a love song and also a reflection on losing someone really important to you. And watching them ride off into the sunset, or in this case sail off, and feeling proud for them in spite of knowing you still have feelings for them and wish you'd made it work. I avoided using the love word because that's difficult for me but the emotion is all through out the song. It's a bit ragged around the edges, but I'm influenced by Dunedin sound as it's my birth city and I feel like some rough edges are ok.
